St. Paul Cathedral School Advisory Commission (SAC) is consultative to the school administration, Principal and Pastor. The role of SAC is to make recommendations and advise the school in areas of policy, planning, development, recruitment, public relations, and special projects.
Membership of SAC is made up of 7-10 elected or appointed representatives as well as the Principal and Cathedral Pastor. Each elected or appointed representative serves a 3-year term. The terms are set so that there will be at least 2-3 memberships up for election or appointment each year. Commission members must have an interest in and commitment to Catholic Education and to the philosophy and mission of the school. SAC members are representatives of the parents and the broader school and parish community. Elections for new members are held every spring. Any interested party must submit a letter of interest and intent to be considered for SAC membership. Candidates are elected by anonymous ballot by the parents and guardians of St. Paul Cathedral School students.
SAC meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month during the school year from 4:15-5:30 pm in the school library. SAC meetings are open for anyone to attend and any changes to time and place will be announced in the weekly school newsletter. If anyone would like to address the SAC commission, please contact the commission president or secretary about adding to the agenda. SAC is NOT a dispute resolution commission; the role of SAC is to assist in policy development and planning as a whole, not to deal with specific issues or grievances.
